Terri Nunn discusses plans for Berlin in 1997

(some of these answers are in response to questions on the Comments page)

Yes it's true Karl Hyde - who wrote with me and played guitar on my solo album - is in the English techno band UNDERWORLD.

I have no idea what Chris Velasco wrote MASQUERADE about. I don't know what TAKE MY BREATH AWAY's about either. Some songs are just a series of images and feelings to me. MASQUERADE feels like it's about the glitz, glamour and futility of endless partying. TMBA's about longing for love, remembering glorious times, hoping for more. That's where I was at the time - lonely.

Now let me fill you in on what's happening now with Berlin. Last year we played a lot. Mainly the western States, though we also got to Cleveland and Florida. The main question I was asked everywhere was WHEN'S THE NEW RECORD COMING OUT? So I decided to to record the new album beginning of this year. I hired Steven Siebold to produce it (from the band HATE DEPT. He's worked with me & Berlin since 1995. HATE DEPT. also had one of Rolling Stone's Top 10 Alternative Albums of 1996). We're starting March 3. Because I want Berlin to be touring by summer, I'll shop the album in May. May the best record company win! If all goes smoothly, it'll come out in August. The band I'm working with now are Roger Carter on drums, Scott Warren on keys, Lance Morrison on bass and Dallan Baumgarten on guitar. Wait 'til you see Dallan, girls! He's so hot! We're doing a lot of singing together on this album.
