Midtown Music Festival, Atlanta, GA - May 2, 1999 concert (courtesy of Neil Goggins) Just thought I'd drop a note on the Atlanta Berlin concert... Music Midtown is an annual event where several local stations set up stages in various locations in downtown Atlanta. Being that Berlin was playing and I missed them 16 years ago when I lived there I decided to drive up and see the band. The song list was mostly from the first two albums with a few from the new one thrown in. I don't remember hearing anything from Count Three or Terri's solo effort. The crowd was mostly college aged kids with a few of us "old" folks around. There were even a few kids with the older crowd. With the early time of the concert (1700-1745) it was pretty laid back at first but when things started happening the mosh pit broke out....all I could think was "moshing to Berlin?" It was fun to watch but I didn't participate :) Terri's voice was right on target and she was wearing just about the same oufit she had for the USA Happy Hour gig. She made comments about a new song being about her divorce (yes there is a god in heaven :) and how she lets her boyfriend sleep a little longer before pouncing on him (lucky guy) and a comment to the girls in attendance that sex after 30 gets even better, thought I'd bust a gut on that one. One slip up came when starting a song from the new album and the drummer knocked his snare off his podium. I was about 15 ft from the stage and laughed hearing him complain about the size of the stage. Terri handled it with all the grace that could come from one with her experience and they shortly started over. This song was called Nine to Five I think and it ROCKS!! Possibly the best song of the evening! I couldn't find any booths that were selling the CD though....know anyone that could help out with this dilemma? 16 years is a long time to wait to see your favorite group but it was well worth the time. I would have loved to record the concert for a bootleg but out of respect for the band I didn't. Thanks for the work on the page as I would never have found out about the concert with out it.
